The power of Gratitude

Are you a Harry Potter fan? I am! The books and the movies are etched in my heart forever and not just because I watched and read them with my Sons when they were little. As an adult I am fascinated with the idea of magic and manifesting miracles. Of course I realize that the wand in the fantasy world of Harry is not necessarily up for grabs for us mere Moguls, but we have something just as powerful.

Gratitude.

Starting your day with gratitude can set you up for a magical experience ahead. You will see miracles all around you. Joy will find you in the most unexpected moments and your creativity will soar. Feeling grateful opens our heart and takes us out of the constant wanting and wishing that gnaws at us all the time. It elevates us to the next level of understanding. It delivers us into a state of light heartedness. It brings that radiant twinkle back into our eyes.

A simple practice of gratitude is a morning writing ritual. Create a list of 10 people/pets/circumstances or things you are grateful for every morning.

I know I lost you here for a second, because who the heck writes anymore? With a pen?! On paper?! But this is how the magic happens!

If you give 5 minutes to this simple exercise while you sip your morning coffee, you will see why the old fashioned method of writing by hand onto paper is crucial. It is a fact that OUR hand holds the pen, OUR eyes read the words that form in OUR mind and we feel the gratitude in OUR hearts.

Try starting your day with this practice and fall in love with gratitude.
